Chorizo MAC

Seeing as how I’m an excellent cook (not really) and so innovative in the kitchen (actually yes) I present you with the easiest dish in the world… CHORIZO MAC!

Keep in mind I am Mexican food OBSESSED and have grown up with chorizo my entire life. It’s amazing…delicious…basically out of this world flavorful! Naturally I try to add it to any dish I make, so I present you with the simplest dish ever.

1. Make the mac-n-cheese of your choice according to the directions on the box. (I made Annie’s Organic Peace Parmesan)

2. Fry about 2 ounces of chorizo in a pan. (I usually just place the chorizo in the pan and it cooks. No need for  butter or oil.)

3. When both are done cooking mix them together, serve, and ENJOY!

It’s Been A While…

Dearest Readers,

It’s been a longggg while…my apologies :( The past three months have been a whirlwind! Not only have I been working on my style blog, SiesVida, but I officially moved to San Francisco! Moving away from home and into my first apartment has been a learning experience like no other…AND the largest part of all that learning comes from cooking & eating what I have attempted to cook…

Here’s to all of the culinary masterpieces I’ve enjoyed over the past 3 months! Cheers!

So yeah, I’m still alive and I have been eating like a boss!

Old Fashioned Eats

It’s a Sunday night and I’m an only child for a month while my sister is away… Special times call for special measures!

Ladies & Gents, may I present to you ICE CREAM FOR DINNER! :)  & McAlpine’s Soda Fountain was the perfect spot to satisfy our sweet-tooths!

McAlpine’s is an actual old- fashioned soda fountain from the fifties. Not only will you dine amongst authentic memorabilia, but you can also peruse the vintage store attached! (The original of ORIGINAL y’all!)

Go get your suga’ on!

Holy Guacamole.

Not too many words need to be said to explain the fine phenomenon of guacamole during the summer season. It’s delish.

You might want to stop drooling so you can make some yourself…

Here’s how-

Ingredients: avocados, tomatoes, guacamole seasoning.

Do: slice&dice tomatoes, mash&mix avocados, fold in the seasoning.

(amount of avocados depends upon which seasoning you sample. Tomatoes are added in for taste)

**In reality guacamole is a bit of a free-for-all as far as dips go. So go wild! Put all your favorite “flavas” in and enjoy!

Happy Summer!

Tortilla Hoarder visits Paradise- La Tolteca, Phoenix

Restaurant REVIEWW en la casaa!

Phoenix might just be known for it’s Mexican food thanks in part to La Tolteca. Es MUY deliciosa with all of its nicely priced authentic Mexican fare. Tripling as a restaurant, market and bakery you can find anything and everything to satisfy your “flavor”- tooth!

I don’t know if it incredibly obvious that I was a little obsessed with the bakery section of the place, BUT I promise that the whole place provides phenomenal food all around!
